My father had an LVAD put in earlier this year and I am now working on making bags (fashionable and functional!) for both men and women who are LVAD recipients. Even to say this project is a labor of love fails to truly express how I feel about creating something for LVAD patients. I hope to do you all justice:)
Travel is something that we at MyLVAD encourage for LVAD recipients and their loved ones. Information on traveling with an LVAD can be difficult to find. Below you will find an instruction sheet that we created on how to pack the HeartMate II®external equipment in a standard sized carry-on bag that will fit in the overhead compartment of a commercial jet airplane.
