6th arrondissement - one of France's greatest poets, Arthur Rimbaud, is being immortalised on the streets of St. Germain des Pres. His 100-line verse poem, Le Bateau Ivre (The Drunken Boat) has been hand-painted on a wall off of St. Sulpice. A Dutch foundation, Tegen Beeld, specializes in painting poems on walls around the world and chose Le Bateau Ivre because Rimbaud wrote the poem in a nearby cafe.

Here is a nice change from the usual graffiti... Le Bateau Ivre (The Drunken Boat), a famous poem by French poet Arthur Rimbaud that all French pupils have learned at school (at least partially). Thanks to the Dutch Tegen-Beeld foundation who committed calligrapher Jan Willem Bruins to write it on a wall, you can now admire it next to St Sulpice.
