DIY:: Twine-Wrapped Lampshade. I used some larger hemp on this and it turned out fantastic. I added some lace around the bottom to give it a little extra pizazz. The directions in the link say to use spray adhesive but I used tacky glue. I use spray adhesive a lot for paper projects but didn't trust it to stand the test of time with a texture like hemp.

Take a globe, cut a hole at the bottom and a smaller one up top (with a Dremel tool). You can then get the wiring at IKEA and just run it through the top

DIY Tabletop Lamp From Old Toys | Shelterness - To make the lamp you need to arrange the toys to form a nice looking base and bond them together using hot glue or any other glue you think would work. Don’t forget to put the cord through this base and fix a bulb on the top. Then you can cover the lamp base with several coats of paint and one coat of polyurethane lacquer.

What a great DIY Lamp idea! I think I'll make mine a little smaller for the top of my mantle and add some fun fabric or paint to the shades to spice them up a bit for my specific room design idea.
