Repurpose a paneled beauty for a bit of classic master bedroom adornment

Find a wonderful old panel door--antique store or better yet--someone's garage!. Typically the top and bottom of a panel door is not equally spaced. Measure and use a table saw to trim up. We had to cut 1.5" off the bottom.

One of the requests by our Customer was to make the headboard 65" tall so the decorative European pillows would not hide the headboard when the bed was made. We needed to add a slight extension to the bottom to make this happen. We carefully removed a few layers of paint as well added the additional distressed feel around the inside bore of each of the 5 panels. The old doors that we purchase are usually made from pine, oak or mahogany. This old door was originally made using pine. After removing most of the paint we seal the front before painting the remaining trim.
