In desperation, Ophelia was driven into madness; she had no means to heal herself. Her reliance on others weighed heavily, causing a unclear mind (conveyed by the mess and darkness in the photo). She was torn between her beloved family and her lover Hamlet (represented by the three flowers). It also reminds me of the scene with flowers. When Ophelia had lost her mind, she begins to hand out different flowers to represent the different people.
