April 1, 1910 -- Mineola -- Photo of the public drinking fountain placed in the middle of Main Street close to Third Street, Firemen's Hall in background. The Sunshine Society raised funds to build it as a memorial for Miss Carrie McCoy who had recently passed away and advocated for the fountain. The Brooklyn Eagle said it "is not only an ornament to the business section but will prove a great public convenience." A light atop the fountain enabled nighttime use.
Century Opera House in Mineola, NY
