Mommy fitness tips by Shakira Akabusi: • Get creative: exercise doesn’t have to mean going to the gym. The world can be your workout studio. • Don’t be strict: I’ve learnt as a mum that children are unpredictable. Fun outdoor games: Lawn basketball Whether the hoop is high or low, getting balls inside them can takes concentration, skill, and a lot of laughs. Each ring colour is a different distance from where the players stand, and vary in points. Added challenge: the balls have to bounce a certain number of times. Form teams and get some playful rivalry going!

Fun outdoor games: Water volleyball If the weather’s warm enough, this is a lot of fun. Divide into teams of multiples of 2, and grab both sides of an old bed sheet. The aim of the game is to play tennis, using the water balloons as balls and sheets as rackets. The losing side is the one who fails to catch the balloon before it hits the ground and breaks!
