Our recent visit to Grouse Mountain in Vancouver included another interesting exhibition, “Birds in Motion”. A group called The Canadian Raptor Conservancy puts on daily demonstrations of birds of prey doing their thing, free flight. About to land, this eagle had slowed to a speed where he was much easier to photograph.

On the Hunt
This bald eagle looks very impressive swooping in on his breakfast at the Nova Scotia Eagle Watch 2012. The Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia is the largest wintering ground for bald eagles in eastern North America. Every year hundreds of eagles converge on this part of Nova Scotia. Hawk (Northern Harrier) - 1162
A pretty picture right? hawk in flight, wings outstretched, nice clouds and all that good stuff. The reality is that this female Harrier dove into the bush with murder and mayhem intended. She came out with two juvinile blackbirds which she promptly fed to her young.
