26th July and today's tiara is the Boucheron Laurel Wreath Tiara. It was a wedding gift to Princess Margaret of Connaught from Queen Sofia of Sweden in 1905. It could also be worn as a necklace, and another very similar piece was also made and included in this photo. It was inherited by her son Prince Bertil and his wife Princess Lilian wore it often. She bequeathed it to Crown Princess Victoria who has worn it several times since her death in 2013.
21st January, and today's tiara I have named The Mystery Tiara. It was worn only once, by Sophie, the Countess of Wessex for the wedding festivities of Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark. At the time, a jeweler in Kent had a very similar tiara, that Sophie could have borrowed. But it also bears a striking similarity to part of the tiara broken down to make the Queen's engagement ring.
2nd January and today's tiara is the Cubit Shand tiara, today belonging to the Duchess of Cornwall. It originally belonged to Camilla's maternal grandmother, and she wore it at her first wedding to Andrew Parker Bowles. Her daughter, Laura, wore it at her wedding too. Camilla still wears the tiara at formal engagements.
