there's something about her that makes you feel as if you've met her before
There's something about her that makes you feel as if you've met her before
"We were the same thing once," she had told you one day, so early in the morning, it seemed like only the forest was waking up around her. You had only known her for a few days then, and you were still coming to terms with it. The first time you saw her you wandered too far into the forest, too enchanted by golden feathers and a too human voice.
a man sitting on top of a hill under a night sky filled with stars and the words, sometimes there are things even better than our dreams
Sometimes there are things even better than our dreams
When I was a kid, I was torn between becoming an astronaut and becoming a pirate. Secretly, I hoped I could be a space pirate. Of course, sometimes dreams die. Mine didn’t die quietly.

Professor Projector - The best teacher ever
So I bumped into my favorite teacher from high school while getting coffee earlier today. Reminded me of an old story...
a person standing in front of a star filled sky with the words somewhere in the world, a child is born one with no memories of it's previous life
Somewhere in the world, a child is born, one with no memories of it’s previous life
“Do you think you’re a good person, Chris?” The question took me by surprise, “Do I…do I think I’m a good person?” I repeated. “Yes.” It replied. “Isn’t that up to you to decide?” I asked, puzzled. “Perhaps.” It says, “But does that really matter?”

a woman in a hooded jacket with an american flag on her chest and the words it was early morning when a cloaked man knocked on my front door
The Assassin's Supplier - It was early morning when...
It was early morning when a cloaked man knocked on my front door. Half-groggy from sleep, roused by an urgent phone call by one of my clients, I wrapped a petal-pink robe around me, trying it closed. As I made my way down the hallway, I grabbed a discarded chopstick from last night’s Chinese food and used it to hold my hair back.
two people standing on top of a hill with the words, the child of the moon
The Child of the Moon - Once upon a time...
Once upon a time – in the world that came before and the world that was to be, in a time long forgotten and in a time long-awaited – there was a boy who lived alone on the moon.
a black and white photo with the words daddy, can you tell me a bedtime story?
Daddy, can you tell me a bedtime story? The Abandonment of Hope
“Daddy, can you tell me a bedtime story?” The father chuckled. “Of course! There’s one I’ve been waiting to share with you, and I think you’re just about big enough.”
She didn't always have this color in her hair. Even back when we were eleven years old, she has always had the most beautiful golden-blonde hair. I was lucky enough to meet her one day as I was riding my bicycle down our road. Blonde Hair, One Day, Golden Blonde Hair, Color Your Hair, Golden Blonde, To Meet, Her Hair, The Way
I hate the way you've colored your hair

a black and white photo of a man handing something to another person on the sidewalk
I offered a homeless man coffee, but...
I saw a homeless man outside of my local coffee shop, and I offered to buy him coffee. He appeared to be in his 60s, with frizzy white hair similar to what a mad scientist might don in an old black and white film. Winter was coming, and the chill air was a constant reminder of that.
a quote about using the powers of the gemstone, they survived, but
Using the powers of the gemstone, they survived, but
A hundred years ago, a small group of Englishmen were sent to South Africa on a mining expedition to gather gold for her majesty the queen. However, weeks of digging inside the dark and empty caves yielded nothing, nothing save a conspicuously round boulder. The men thought its curious spherical shape charming enough they sought to take it.

Cities… have not been kind to me I’m afraid young lad
Ahoy!” a voice shouted. Startled, the Oldman looked around frantically not minding the hot tea he spilled on his arm as he jumped. “Up here!” The voice sounded clearer and more direct.

And certain clues suggested they had been successful - Infinity
Though it was represented using symbols not seen in any human civilization derived from Earth, the form and structure of the equation was unmistakable. It was Schrodinger’s equation, that same differential equation that is intimately familiar to any physics undergraduate.
Days 23-25: As I woke up, fragments of the same story I had been following for a while pieced together in my head. Or, in simple words, I slowly remembered the dream I had. I was a little kid who went exploring into the forest a little too far and got attacked by a group of angry, grey versions of the villagers.
