I have been working hard on a new series 3D designs of which a selection will hopefully be shown at the upcoming high grade art show PAN in Amsterdam by Galerie Majke Hüsstege. These new sculptures will be 3D printed in larger sizes (around 70 centimeters) and the overall theme could be described as ‘selfies‘ of girls in strange compositions with predominately animals.
Eric van Straaten presents, aside his new 3D printed sculptures, six new 2D rendered photo’s at Realisme Amsterdam, in which his renegade-willed pubescent girls are placed in dream-like (although plain every day-based) surroundings. This technique is a first for Van Straaten, and according to the artist a big technical challenge, even bigger than that involved in 3D printing. The photographs look very beautiful as they are printed on Ilford Galerie Gold Barite-paper and measure 60 x 60 cm.
