On January 16th, 1920 it was made illegal to sell, make, or drink alcohol in the United States. Although it was allowed for medical uses only.

This is another photo stressing the prohibition era. The men in this photo had probably made the alcohol and were breaking many laws. Those who had done this in this period of time often sold the products to different suppliers.
