Shell Cups

On this board we highlight objects and paintings depicting shell cups. Nautilus cups are ceremonial vessels from the time of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. They are made from the shell of the Nautilus, which is artfully set in precious metals, usually gold-plated silver or gold.
