Augrenoise blonde de noël

20-Dec-2015: Augrenoise Blonde de Noël by Brasserie Augrenoise. A 9.5% Christmas beer brewed at an annex of St. Alfred in Casteau, where the former Castle of Augrene serves as a home for the mentally handicapped. The label was hand-drawn by residents of the home. Brewed with Orval's yeast strain, fermented in an open tank. All ingredients come from Orval, and the brewing is assisted by the former brewer of Orval. The beer is yeasty, yet fruity. It's smooth. 13-Jun-2015 : Cardinal Spéciale by Feldschlösschen. Hotel minibar beer. Thrilled it's Swiss (even if part of Carlsberg group)! A Pilsner, decent. Special? Perhaps not. But it'll do! #ottbeerdiary

Day 21:Back to reality today – slowly but surely. But the weather was a bit too good so I went droning for half an hour – instead of the gym which was the original plan…Translation, photo editing and travel planning took up the rest of the day and before I knew it, beer o’clock had arrived. This brewery made a cracking Christmas beer for 2014 and I had high hopes for their wheat beer…The beer: Hveteøl (organic) from Reins Kloster, Rissa, Norway

14-May-2015 : Cidre Breton Brut Reserve by Cidres Kerisac. When in the French countryside, the Loire Valley in this case, Cidre is often the brewed beverage of choice vs. beer. This one is dry, but a little sweet. Tasty. #ottbeerdiary
