Splendid Fairy wren (I really need to go to Australia)

Splendid Wren - In full breeding plumage, the male is the most beautiful of the blue wrens. Distributed through heathlands and shrubby vegetation in the southern half of Australia. (ref: Reader's Digest Complete Book of Australian Birds).

Superb Fairy-wren (Malurus cyaneus) at Mount Lofty, South Australia

Found in south-east Queensland, south to Tasmania, across Victoria to the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. Generally within 200 kms from the coast. Also up the Murray River and Lachlan River in New South Wales.

The Eastern Rosella is a rosella native to southeast of the Australian continent and to Tasmania. It has been introduced to New Zealand where feral populations are found in the North Island and in the hills around Dunedin in the South Island.
