represents the zoo with the giraffes and the birds. as well as the Bronx with the shapes of the buildings in the giraffes legs. its memerable because when you think animals and what better way to show where the zoo is from is with buildings.

Bronx Zoo, uses cut-outs and textures that already existed for signage to find animals. I especially love the zebra.

This is one of the most shameful factual events in American history. Ota Benga The Congolese Pygmy Man in the Bronx Zoo. The exhibit was supposedly intended to promote the concept of human evolution, eugenics and scientific racism. He later worked in a tobacco factory & started planning to go back to Africa.  1914 WW I broke out, a return to the Congo became impossible. Benga at 32 was depressed,3-20-1916 he built a ceremonial fire and shot himself in the heart with a stolen pistol. SHAME…

Ota Benga was an African Congolese Pygmy, who was put on display in the monkey house at the Bronx Zoo in New York in 1906 .
