Create DIY fire starters for autumn and winter with materials you'd throw out- toilet paper cardboard tubes and dryer lint. Wrap in wax paper and be done!

DIY christmas gifts... corks in spiritus ...to easily light the fireplace!! Real Simple Magazine just had a blurb on using wine corks for fire starter. Add corks to a jar of rubbing alcohol and then stick a cork under some newspaper and light it to start the fire. Not sure if it'll work with synthetic corks.
