Really fun and detailed tutorial on how to make rag rug from old t-shirts, and how to weave beautiful rugs on a cardboard loom or hula hoop loom!
Use a non slip mat and strips of fabric, and time! This is a good watching TV project. You don’t even need to tie the strips, the non slip material holds pretty well.

T-shirt rag rug - how-to (from 'Rags: Making a Little Something Out of Almost Nothing' 1979): http://chawedrosin.wordpress.com/2008/06/23/rugs-from-recycled-t-shirts/
My first thought was "oh, hell no" - but I used to LOVE latch-hooking rugs when I was a kid. I did it all the time! A smaller one, made with t-shirt scraps, would make an AWESOME bath mat, and I could do it in whatever colors I wanted.
I really like the quilting design stitched here.(hand-made book with vintage button closure | by molly jean hobbit)
