FRENCH IMPERIAL GUARD TRUMPETERS: A detail of the painting by Theodore Gericault in oil on canvas of the trumpters of the Napoleons Imperial Guard. The troopers are from the famous 1st Regiment Polish Chevau-Legers Lanciers. The painting was completed in France between 1813/14. It shows the regimental trupeters in full dress parade uniform with white tunic and rose colored facings. The painting is on display at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
