Lotus blossoms differ from a lily by their height off the water. Whereas lilies can rest on the water or just above, lotus can rise several feet above. As a lotus is able to emerge from muddy waters, un-spoilt and pure, it's considered to represent a wise and spiritually enlightened quality in a person; and is a very important symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, as it was for the ancient Egyptians.
A card for my stamp club featuring the beautiful floral image from the Sale-a-Bration set, Lotus Blossom. I also pulled out a very old set from a past SAB, called Best Blossoms for the foliage at the base of the card.
