The Maned Wolf (Chrysocyon Brachyurus) is in the family of Canidae and is nicknamed "the stilt-legged fox", although it is not related to foxes nor wolves. The Maned Wolf is an animal enigma and is a survivor from the Pliestocene era.

Maned wolf - The maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus) is the largest canid of South America. It is however a canid, and therefore related to the wolf. Maned wolves are more closely related to the forest fox and the bush dog (canid species from South America).
