Dutch coins: stuiver, dubbeltje, kwartje, gulden (piek) en een rijksdaalder (knaak)

This is a unique and very unusual Bronze Age / Celtic finger ring, dating to c. 1100 - 800 B.C. The ring is large and cast in the cire perdue process, typical or early metalworking. It is clearly related to the knobbed variety of ring money, from Gaul, Germany and the Black Sea region catalogued by Victoor, R. Roulles Celtes et Objets Assimilés. (Rosendaël-lez-Dunkerque, 1989). Rather than being a uniform "ring-money" with knobs at even points, this piece is more organic and magical.

Guldens. Deze oude vertrouwde briefjes vind ik veel mooier dan de briefjes die er allemaal na kwamen.

Designing Banknotes

A selection of the old dutch bank notes designed by R.D.E Oxenaar, probably the nicest and most unique notes to date. Its a shame the Euros look as they do, especially when they replace great design like this.

A BELLE EPOQUE NATURAL PEARL, RUBY AND DIAMOND NECKLACE The front designed as stylised tied ribbons with foliate openwork centre, set throughout with rose-cut diamonds and a cabochon ruby, supporting a pear-shaped natural pearl drop to a fine chain, circa 1910
