Girl painting bluebird. Mabel Rollins Harris. Harris did calendar work for Brown & Bigelow, starting in 1933 with a commission for a sentimental subject entitled Blue Heaven. She continued to work on such non-pin-up themes, where her series depicting young girls in idyllic gardens was a great success. Because of the special softness of Harris’ pastels, her work was extremely popular in the mainstream illustration and publishing community.
Goats, by artist Edgar Hunt. (I'm thinking of getting a goat, but I don't know what I am getting into. I've started by pinning this beautiful painting - it's the safe thing to do until I decide to buy a real one!)
