Beef and Guiness Stout Stew. One of my favourite recipes from Jamie Oliver which I often make. Meat tastes sweeter and clean if you don't brown it first. For darker sauce, leave out or use less canned tomatoes.
Or my mother's version: cook meat in oil, wait until it has a nice golden color, add garlic and oignons. Then add water, half a large spoon of tomato puree and a spice mix or bouillon cube and vegetables and laurel leaves.
