Although this dress looks quintessentially Edwardian, the New Zealand Fashion Museum dates it to 1892. Black silk, black & cream lace, cotton lining, boning. "This late-Victorian dress demonstrates the levels of luxury attainable by a small-town storekeeper’s wife at the end of the 19th century," the museum says.
