YORK ~ ENGLAND ~ The Shambles is a charming old street in York with overhanging timber-framed buildings, some dating back as far as the 14th century. The street-level shops, inlcuding butchers, catered to the townspeople. Although the butchers have since vanished, a number of shops still have meat-hooks hanging outside.

Haworth, England, home of the Brontes. One of the coolest places I have ever been because of my love of their books. Admittedly, I should not have arrived on the night of Halloween and listened to a night-time ghost walk in the graveyard. Especially because I was traveling alone.
