Homemade Jewelry Cleaner 3 Cups water, heated in microwave for 3 minutes on high. 2 Tbsp baking soda 2 Tbsp salt 2 Tbsp dish soap Aluminum foil Casserole dish Line dish with foil and lay jewelry inside Mix all ingredients together into hot water and pour mixture over jewelry Let it sit 10 minutes Rinse jewelry and dry gently, yet thoroughly, with a soft towel, that's it, easy peasy! This worked beautifully on my gold, silver, diamond, gem, and pearl jewelry.
DIY Jewelry Cleaner: microwave 1c. water for 2min. cover bottom of bowl with aluminum foil, add water, 1TBS salt, 1TBS baking soda, 1TBS dish detergent. works great for gold, brass, nickel, and sterling silver
Cleaning sterling silver jewelry: Line a plastic or glass container with aluminum foil. Place silver jewelry on the foil making sure each piece touches the foil. Sprinkle baking 1T soda and 1T salt over and cover with 1c boiling water. Use a spoon to swirl the jewelry around until it is untarnished. (I did this and was amazed how fast it worked and how clean my sterling was!)
Recipe for homemade jewelry cleaner. Even though this said it can be used on silver, I did and I would not suggest it. White gold cleaned great, but silver pieces had some yellowish discoloration and removed some antiquing black on a ring. Jewelry cloths rubbed the discoloration gone. Still, be careful with silver and I wouldn't pearls either.
