WILLEM VAN GENK (1927-2005) | He has created an imposant oeuvre, consisting of some 100 works on paper and board, plus about seventy trolleybuses made of cardboard and scrap material and one installation, «Arnhem Bus Station». His brillant, almost maniacal detailing is a striking feature in an oeuvre with multiple layers of meaning. Power in every form is a key aspect to his work. These are all forces conspiring to suppress « the ordinary man. » The Ordinary Man, Scrap Material, Art Brut, Dutch Painters, Outsider Art, Fantasy World, Naive, Brooklyn Bridge, Art World
