I love this feel, even for a room other than a hallway. How do you feel about oriental rugs? I think the right ones can feel so warm and have that folk element to them, adding some color without having to paint the walls. I also love it with the brass color on the vintage light fixtures, which is an element you already have in your house, and then white everywhere else.
