There is still alot of wok and refining to be done, the dark back ground shows of the inprefections more.. :(
From a sketch in my design book, I transfered the details acrross. I also designed the size of the mirror template, because later down the line I will have to cut in the place where the most important thing sits - the MIRROR..! On the left is the template for the mirror, simple, straight and no curves. Ideal for this project.
Once we are happy with design, I cut it out - also take measurements so that it will fit into the postal box that we will eventually be sending away in - if its too big it will cost us or the clients lots of bucks..!!! Very expensive once your package goes outside the limitations set by your postal company..!! Our mirrors are on sale here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/funkymirrors?ref=si_shop
Now I have the design, now I must saw it out, the holes are there so I can cut out the center parts of the glasses. Here it is waiting to be cut...
One half of the design is made, then its flipped over so that it can create the other half thus the full symeteric design. Here are the two half drawn out together...! Like to see our mirrors for sale? https://www.etsy.com/shop/funkymirrors?ref=si_shop
Wow that took ages..! The glasses have been sawn out, but will still need alot of refining, sanding, filling up areas and shaping into perfection... Lots of dust - phew..!
This is only a prototype at the moment and needs a lot of work on it before I can use it to make a mould so we can cast the design and make it more production friendly and therefore making it easier to create. so far so good..! We got some serious sanding nd haping to do before we can say that these glasses are ready and ready for the Sun..! :)
Holes have been drill in and around the board, so I can easy get in my jigsaw blade and cut the shapes out...
These Brill glasses are great for sharing a bathhroom...
