We studied “El Dia de Los Muertos” or “The Day of the Dead.” This is one of the most important holidays in the Hispanic culture. This event takes place on November 1st and 2nd and honors friends and relatives who have died throughout the year. The skeleton is a popular symbol associated with “The Day of the Dead” so the students created their own dancing skeleton. We also talked about what a pattern is and student had to create a pattern around their border using colors and shapes.
