Alaskan timber bridge - designed for a 90-psf pedestrian load. Other extreme stresses due to location:wind gusts to 120 mph, 200-psf snow load, flooding potential, + high seismic. Lateral loads from wind and seismic are resisted by vertical portal frames at each truss panel point + horizontal chevron bracing in the planes of the top and bottom chords. The bridge was analyzed as a 3-D structure using SAP2000, and the design conforms to the current AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification.
