Phar Lap
Tommy Woodcock and the mighty Phar Lap shortly after their arrival at the Agua Caliente racetrack in Mexico. I can't imagine the pressure and stresses that Tommy Woodcock would have been under at this particular time. Having only had his trainers license for a few months, he is given the best racehorse in Australia and sent to the other side of the planet to prove that his charge, is not just Australia's best, but the world's best. We all know the rest of the story, it's one of triumph and tragedy and a story that will forever be told as long as there are people who love these magnificent creatures.

MAN O' WAR 🇺🇲
"No other horse ever won such fame as Man O’ War. None was more beautiful, with lovelier lines of grace and power. None was more beloved by an admiring and faithful public. Few have lived so long. The American scene seems a little vacant with Man o’ War gone to the Elysian Fields where all good horses go." Ny Times.

Phar Lap
The Thoroughbred gelding who played Phar Lap was Towering Inferno. He was bred by Shirley Pye-Macmillan at Walcha, New South Wales and later owned by Heath Harris. Towering Inferno was killed by lightning on 15 April 1999. The real Tommy Woodcock played a trainer in the movie.
