Hedgehog toy from BC. Found at the temple of Inshushinak in the city of Susa, capital of the ancient Elamite civilization (in modern day Iran). The Hedgehog was a symbol of the womb of the Mother Goddess in ancient Europe and the Near East.

The hollow vessel with prominent rump and neck hump, the muzzle extending into a long spout, with curved horns and punched circular incised eyes, with vertical ridges for the dewlap and tail, on four tapering legs, incised dots and dotted zigzag flanking the dewlap, dotted decoration on the back with three dotted circles on one side and four circles on the other, 8¾ in.
