Ajuga reptans atropurpurea

Catlin's Giant Ajuga is a semi-evergreen plant that forms a mat of large, shiny purple-brown leaves with extra large bright blue flowers that shoot up in Spring. Ideal as a flowering groundcover or border in a shady spot.

Bugleweed (Ajuga reptans 'Atropurpurea') is an evergreen perennial. It spreads in the garden by stolons (reptans means creeping) and forms an attractive, mat-like ground cover. It has small blue lipped flowers (May-July). Position: full sun or partial shade. Soil: moist, well-drained - S.v.Soest

Ajuga reptans 'Atropurpurea' and Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' is one of my favorite combinations for containers. And I couldn't resist the Syneilesis aconitifolia. Impatiens added only as a last minute addition.
