base glaze: 40 Potash Feldspar, 20 Whiting, 25 China Clay and 15 Flint. for black: 4% Nickel Oxide, 4% Red Iron Oxide, 2% Cobalt Carbonate

Left column is the original G2934, a widely used matte (with dolomite). These variants source the MgO from talc and a frit, raise thermal expansion and smooth the surface, decrease crawling, add zinc, increase hardness.

Tony Hansen Charcoal Matte Black 138/7 Several variations, see text on tile 49.2 Soda Feldspar 5 Silica 17.9 Whiting 19.9 Kaolin 8 Zinc Ox. ADD 6.7 RIO 1.3 Cobalt Ox. Tests show from left to right, a 5% increment increase of Silica from 5% to 25%. The surface gets glossier as the Silica increases.
