The wood carving is loosely inspired by Norse and Viking mythology. The main motif is the World Ash Tree Yggdrasil. At the top of this wood carving are two horses pulling a chariot of the sun gods. The ring in the entanglement can symbolize the Sun. Thor's hammer among the intertwined snakes is at the bottom. In this case, it is a depiction of a flying hammer as a symbol of protection against underworld beings, which are expressed here by intertwined snakes.
