Nyungwe Forest is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa. It is one of the last remaining montane rainforests of the Congo Nile divide and is the source of both the Nile and the Congo River. Nyungwe Forest is home to 14 primate species including chimpanzee and over 300 bird species. Nyungwe forest is located in the Kivu Belt, a tourist destination in Rwanda. People come for swimming, boating, hiking and to track chimpanzees in the national parks.
