This activity is designed for students to practice their signing abilities in a real-world setting. So many ASL students struggle to communicate when encountering Deaf in the community. This activity helps them practice signing conversations in a real-world scenario. In this activity, students will be an Interior Designer who must sign with a Deaf customer. To be successful, your students should know vocabulary for furniture layout and how to sign renovations/ changes to layouts. Students will watch videos of a Deaf person signing and record themselves responding in a conversation style. You can use this as a quiz and have them record on demand or as a teaching activity where they can formulate their responses with teacher guidance.
