Female lions are usually smaller than males and have lighter color coats. They also tend to be more social and form strong bonds with other pride members. They can collaborate and strategize to bring down prey much larger than themselves. With so many impressive abilities, what is a female lion called?

Taken early in the morning in February this year on a photo safari in Tanzania. I felt like she wanted me for breakfast as I took this photo. This was my wife, Sue's favorite photo of the trip. I had a 20"X30" made if this and it's hanging on her office wall.

White Lion Trust One of the projects Ouwehand Zoo Foundation is supporting a project of The Global White Lion Protection Trust (White Lion Trust / WLT) in South Africa. This foundation aims to protect the rare white lion. The White Lion Trust has a family with three young lion released into a reserve of 700 hectares.
