The Fomorians, were a supernatural race in lrish mythology. They're often portrayed as hostile and monstrous beings, and originally said to come from under the sea or the earth. Later on, they were portrayed as sea raiders and giants. The Fomorians are enemies of Ireland's first settlers and opponents of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Fomorian (Irish) - Once the Fomorian were beautiful titans, blessed with divine appearances, but they got greedy and demanding and so the Gods punished and cursed them into the opposite of what they were, and the Fomorians became horrid, ugly and monstrous creatures. Forever hungry for power and revenge they claimed themselves to be the Kings of all Fae and they indeed lead great armies of fae against their former gods. Their leader is called Balor.

Tuatha de Denann family tree. I couldn't find an image which adequately portrayed the Tuathe de Denann, or the Sidhe; they are always depicted as tiny beings with wings, or semi-naked with elf ears!
