The Grand Trunk Road is one of Asia's oldest and longest major roads linking India to the rest of Eurasia, running over 2,400 km from Burma to Afghanistan. Chandragupta built his highway along the ancient Uttarapatha route, and further improvements were made under Ashoka, the Mughals and the British.
