The Immortals were an elite heavily-armed infantry queued unit of 10,000 soldiers in the army of the Achaemenid Empire. This force performed the dual roles of both Imperial Guard and standing army. The force consisted mainly of Persians, but also included Medes and Elamites.

The Persian Elite Set was an armor set worn by the Elite Persian forces. In 5th century BCE, the set was commonly worn by highest ranks of the soldiers working for the Order of the Ancients. During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra defeated the members of the Order of Hunters, a branch of the Order of the Ancients, in Makedonia, and claimed a set of the armor for her own. Instead of the masked helmet, however, she claimed the dagger of the Magi of the Order of Hunters...
