Even though I love Japanese culture and design, there are a lot of holes in my knowledge about Japan. I know the Japanese have used stamps and red ink instead of signatures on official documents for a long time—since 57AD. These stamps, called Hanko stamps, are still used today. I noticed these stamp displays in shop windows in Tokyo. The variety of designs is astonishing, and I want one so badly! I'll add that to my list of things to learn about :)
