Lander (1898-1960) worked with Charles Holden before joining Welch (1884-1953) to form Lander and Welch. They had both worked on modernist style buildings and projects of the time, such as Letchworth Garden City, Welwyn Garden City and Hampstead Garden Suburb. Park Royal was their only project for London Underground.
