This one, which was collected in Italy in 1992, is part of a string of European spruce that Walter is currently featuring. All are dynamic old yamadori in his signature naturalistic style

My cork bark elm after a major pruning and repotting. I removed the large left branch on the main trunk that was just too heavy. It also conflicted with the secondary trunk. I also tilted the whole tree to the right bringing the first section of trunk more away from the vertical. Another year or two and this will be ready to show.

Almost any conifer species can be grown as a bonsai. The cedar, taxus, juniper and pine families all have many subspecies and varieties to choose from.
