Good news is you don’t need to be in pain 🤷🏻‍♂️ 
 
The vast majority of people with knee pain I see don’t have pain that originates from the knee, but often an issue somewhere in the chain like their foot/ankle or hip/pelvis that is the driver of their knee pain 😩 
 
I like this move a lot because it works your core, hip, knee, and ankle together and forces you to hold the move for a prolonged time period which is great for pain desensitization as well as creating a “stronger connection” neuromuscularly 🤓  
   
Try it out for 3 sets till fatigue/failure and let me know how it goes below ⬇️
