Today's Free 4 All challenge was to color block on our project. I decided to create a little paper quilt with some of my Stella & Rose scraps from My Mind's Eye. After laying them all out and adhering them to my cardstock base, I paper pierced around every single square. I then used an archival pen to make a faux zig zag stitch around the squares. I cut a 12cm square of printer paper & found the centre by drawing lines diagonal to diagonal. Using temporary adhesive I stuck a 3cm square of card in the centre. I cut 4 strips of paper 4.5cm long by 1.5cm wide. The edges were sponged with brown ink to give them definition. They were stuck around the centre, making sure the edges lined up by using a ruler as shown. The centre square was then removed so I could use a brayer to ensure everything was adhered properly. I have done a fair number of quilted cards. There had once been a gallery associated with a "Technique Lover's" challenge. I will now upload a few of my patterns to this gallery. I do mine a wee bit differently. I grid out a piece of paper in one inch grids. I draw the straight pattern lines on it. I apply the two sided tape to the paper and lay the paper carefully down on the paper. I start from the center out and then trim edges at the end.
