Renowned Sentinel photographer Ted Stringer died last month at the age of 91. Ted, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was a journalist for almost 40 years after working down the mines as a Bevin Boy. He joined The Sentinel in 1950 and his career spanned major changes in the industry - including the switch from plate photography and flash bulbs through to the use of 35mm film.
