The idea I had for this was to use a strong icon of ideal beauty and society's achievement of true beauty, plastic surgery lines to contradict each other. I wanted to convey the idea that "Why should beauty standards matter?"

As women, we’re constantly bombarded with images of how our bodies are supposed to look. Hourglass figures, hairless bodies, and flawless faces — these are just some of the unrealistic standards we’re supposed to adhere to. Luckily for us, we can follow the example of fierce women that finally gave up on chasing the unattainable beauty ideal and now focus on feeling good about themselves, allowing their self-esteem to skyrocket.

This experiment by journalist Esther Honig is really something interesting to watch! During the experiment, she took a simple and plain photo of herself. After that, she asked Photoshop artists from around the world to alter it, according to beauty standards in their countries. 23 artists gave her a completely different look - the results are quite astonishing and tell us a lot about beauty standards around the world!
